About Us
Pewaukee Lake Montessori Academy is owned and operated by Global Montessori Inc. and is a private, independent, non-profit school for children ages 20 months to 6 years, regardless of race, creed or sex. The school has a board of directors and is operated by the executive director and staff. Currently, the school is supported by tuition, before and after school programs, fund raising events and donations.
The first school Little Lambs Montessori Inc., was founded in September of 2007 with the goal of providing affordable, quality, authentic Montessori education to the community ofWales. We outgrew this location in 2 years and in September 2009 we opened Oconomowoc Montessori Inc. The Church of the Resurrection which housed Grandma's House Daycare, contacted us offering a larger space with plenty of space for future growth. Though we loved Oconomowoc this beautiful and spacious facility was truly an offer we could not refuse.
We are truly a home away from home for children. We create a warm, nurturing, child-centered, classroom environment where the children develop independence, respect, and creativity. This carefully and thoughtfully prepared environment constantly stimulates the child’s natural desire to learn and explore through the use of durable and inviting hands-on learning materials.
We offer a world-class education of the mind, intrinsically intertwined with a nurturing of the heart that propels children to be all that they can be.
Children learn at their own pace according to their individual needs with guidance from Montessori trained and certified teachers. By removing barriers to learning, we find the children’s rapid development often astonishes us.
In our Montessori multi-aged classroom every child has the opportunity to experience the benefits of each level in turn, developing the skills to both lead and be led – skills that will serve your child for a life time.
We read to the children everyday. We take them outside every day, weather permitting. We believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self confidence. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. We will make sure that your child is involved in stimulating activities everyday.
Most importantly, we believe that children need to have fun while they are learning!
We never label children and believe that each child is an individual and we guide them to develop in their areas of strengths and weaknesses.
We recognize that parents may have difficult schedules so we try and support them as best we can. We offer before and after school programs and are open between the hours of6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
All of our teachers go through a screening process and have degrees in child development and education.
